Hey everyone,
In this guide, I will be providing different ways that you can earn Rainbow Stars in the game without spending real money. I will not be covering the purchase of Rainbow Stars with real money, because you can easily do that if you want and you may do that at any time, rather I will cover ways you can earn them by playing the game. Since there are so many items to buy with Rainbow Stars from Rux, Rainbow Stars are used for a lot of items but it can be hard to get your hands on any decent amount. This guide will cover the ways that you can improve your Rainbow Stars yield, so if you aim to get your hands on plenty of Rainbow Stars, read on.
On the Nintendo Switch version of the game, Rainbow Stars do not exist in the game. Any item that would have cost Rainbow Stars in that version of the game costs Coins instead, and if you would earn Rainbow Stars, you earn Coins or Prize Bulbs instead. If you play on Nintendo Switch, this guide is not relevant for you.
So, here are the ways to gain Rainbow Stars:
EARNING RAINBOW STARS
Weekly Challenges
Doing the Weekly Challenges that are available from each Weekly Event can give you up to 60 Rainbow Stars each week. This is actually a decent amount of Rainbow Stars and one of the best ways of getting your hands on this rare currency without needing to buy any. Completing the first Weekly Challenge gives you 10 Rainbow Stars, the second Weekly Challenge gives you 20 Rainbow Stars, and the third one gives you 30 Rainbow Stars. Since the majority of the Rainbow Stars are obtained by completing the final Weekly Challenge, it is best to try and do all 3 of these Weekly Challenges to maximise your income of Rainbow Stars. If you want to buy cool items with Rainbow Stars, doing the Weekly Challenges every week is really helpful as it is a surefire way to earn a bunch of them.
Amount of Rainbow Stars Earned: 60 (10, 20, 30 respectively).
Rux's Weekly Gift
Rux sometimes offers you a Weekly Gift which gives you Rainbow Stars for free, and you simply need to claim them from him. The exact amount of Rainbow Stars that you get from this method can vary significantly. Make sure to check Rux at least once a week and you will never miss out on your free Rainbow Stars when he offers them to you, because if you wait too long, your free gifts will expire and you will miss out on an easy opportunity to gain Rainbow Stars with low effort. Sometimes, he will offer a "Star Doubler" offer, which works the same way as if obtaining a free Rainbow Star gift, so make sure to check every week. How it works is, if you pay 1,000 Rainbow Stars, you will gain 2,000 Rainbow Stars in return, meaning you basically gain 1,000 Rainbow Stars for free, but you actually have to have 1,000 Rainbow Stars at the time you make this "free purchase". I recommend always having 1,000 Rainbow Stars or more on you at a time for this reason, so that when he offers this to you, you can easily gain 1,000 Rainbow Stars with minimal effort.
Amount of Rainbow Stars Earned: Can vary, check Rux and he will show you. You can get loads with the Star Doubler offer though!
Prize Map Rewards
Every Prize Map has a total of 150 Rainbow Stars that you can earn for free every month! Unfortunately, this process of obtaining Rainbow Stars is nonrenewable as the Prize Maps repeat each year, so once you claim all the Rainbow Stars in a monthly Prize Map, you are unable to gain more Rainbow Stars again in that Prize Map. There are a total of 3 sets of 50 Rainbow Stars each month, providing a total of 150 that you can obtain from each Prize Map. If you have fully completed a Prize Map, then you have claimed your Rainbow Stars as well. While this strategy of obtaining Rainbow Stars is nonrenewable, you actually end up earning a decent amount of Rainbow Stars and you do not actually need to put in particularly much effort, as long as you are actually trying to get your Prize Bulbs and you are aiming to complete the Prize Maps. Earning these Rainbow Stars will be worthwhile!
Amount of Rainbow Stars Earned: 150 (3 Sets of 50).
WHAT YOU CAN SPEND RAINBOW STARS ON
There are a few different items that you can spend Rainbow Stars on. This includes:
- Almost all items from Rux (he does sell lots of cheap and expensive items).
- Legendary Upgrades (you can also spend Coins, I suggest doing that).
- Characters (you can also spend Coins, I suggest doing that).
- Prize Bulbs, you can convert Rainbow Stars into Prize Bulbs.
CONCLUSION
Rainbow Stars are really hard to amass a large stockpile of, unless you are willing to pay real money to get any larger amount. Hopefully though, you will be able to get Rainbow Stars for free more easily using this guide! Unfortunately though, if you want to buy a lot of items using Rainbow Stars quickly, you may need to pay real money, or even just take lots of time to save up a lot of this rare currency, still, hopefully this guide helps you get more though. Make sure to look out for free giveaways and special events regarding Rainbow Stars in-game!
See you later!
