Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water togradually diminish over the weekend.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 354 PM EDT, Emergency management continues to reportflooding in the warned area along the South Fork of theEdisto River and the Edisto River. Emergency Managers fromboth Bamberg and Orangeburg counties report some roadways andsmall communities remain flooded. Over the past 4 days Debbyproduced 6 to 11 inches of rain across this portion of theEdisto River Basin.- Widely scattered showers and thunderstorms during theafternoon and evening hours will produced some locally heavyrainfall, but the areal coverage will not be enough toincrease the flooding.- Some locations that will experience flooding include...mainly rural areas of East Central Bamberg and South CentralOrangeburg Counties along the South Fork of the Edisto River,North Fork of the Edisto River and the Edisto River.- http://www.weather.gov/safety/floodPRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...Most flooding deaths occur in vehicles. Numerous roadsremain closed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due toexcess runoff from earlier rainfall. Additional rains earlytonight, which are mainly across Berkeley will only exacerbate theflooding.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 630 PM EDT, Flooding continues and is worsening alongseveral creeks and streams across portions of Dorchester andBerkeley Counties. Significant flooding is ongoing acrossJedburg, Ridgeville, Moncks Corner, and Bonneau areas.Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms will continueto impact the area early tonight, mainly across BerkeleyCounty. These storms could result in an additional 1 to 2inches of rainfall. This rainfall may lead to new floodingrapidly.- Water levels along French Quarter Creek near Huger inBerkeley County remain in the major flood category and anumber of homes are flooded along the creek. This includesareas along French Quarter Creek Road.Water levels at Ireland Creek at Walterboro are just belowthe moderate flood stage and may remain there throughtonight. Water will continue to impact some businesses andhome along Ivanhoe Road between Forest Hills Road and LandsEnd Road.Water levels along the Ashley River are slowly rising and maybegin to flood nearby neighborhoods including the Ashboroughneighborhood.Church Creek near West Ashley will remain just below floodstage through the night.PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flooddeaths occur in vehicles.Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize thedangers of flooding.&&
